Podcasts are private clubs. This is the pub.

Pubcast transforms podcasting from one-way transmission into open conversation. Live audio that anyone can join, remix, and build on.

What is Pubcast?

Pubcast is a live audio platform where conversations are open and remixable. Unlike traditional podcasts where you just listen, on Pubcast you can join live conversations, reply with your own audio, fork discussions into new directions, or clip highlights to share.

Live Conversations

Join episodes as they happen. Raise your hand to speak, or just participate.

Replies

Record audio responses to episodes. Thread conversations asynchronously.

Forks

Branch off from any moment to start a new live conversation in a different direction.

Clips

Extract 10-60 second highlights with optional commentary to share.

How It Works

How do I join a conversation?

Browse live episodes on the homepage or topics page, then click "Join" to enter the room. You'll be able to listen right away. Raise your hand when you want to speak.

What's the difference between reply, fork, and clip?

Reply: Record an async audio response that threads under the original episode.
Fork: Start a new live episode that branches from a moment in another episode.
Clip: Extract a short highlight (10-60 seconds) to share, optionally with your own commentary.

Who can speak in an episode?

The opener sets the speaker selection mode: opener-controlled (opener picks next speaker), audience-voted (participants vote), or queue (first-come-first-serve). By default, everyone can participate.

How does moderation work?

The opener and (by default) the first two speakers share moderation powers. Moderators can mute, remove participants, or end the episode. Openers can restrict moderation to themselves only.

Can I listen later if I miss it live?

Yes! After an episode ends, the recording is processed and published to the channel. You can listen anytime, scrub through the audio, and see the archived chat.
